This is the time of year that most of us begin to think about the things for which we are most thankful. Always, on the top of my list, is my family. I am so grateful to have a large, loving and caring family. Even though, some key family members are no longer with us, we can still feel them here, and will always know that they are very near, if only in our hearts and memories.
This journal is going to be a tribute to my family members that belong to the community here on dA.
First of all, I would like to feature my niece, Jennifer from Virginia.

She is the person that got me started on dA and has turned into quite a photographer. I've always thought Jennifer has what my Photo School Instructor used to call a "Natural Eye." Someone who can actually "see in pictures," and, almost every shot turns out good. Here are a few examples of her work. Feel free to stop by her gallery and have a look at the rest of her work. She's quite good!

Next, I'd like to introduce you to my nephew, Shaun from Ohio.

Shaun has his own style of photography and has an amazing talent for almost all forms of art. His Graphic Art and Designs are unequaled by most, if not all that I've seen. Unfortunately, he doesn't have them posted on dA, though. Take a stroll through Shaun's gallery, sometime. I'm sure you'll be impressed. Here's a few of his images.

And, my third and final family member on dA, at this time, is my niece, Riki Mae from Indiana.

She was just getting started in Photography this past summer, and was doing a pretty good job with it. But, lately, school has taken over and put her dA time on the back burner, so to speak. As well as a recent stay in the hospital due to Asthma. Then, she also had an unfortunate mishap that damaged her camera. So, hopefully, she will get things settled down soon and be able to rejoin this great community of artists on dA. For now, though, here are a few of her images from over the summer. Take the time to look through her gallery, sometime. I'm sure she would appreciate it.

Every Thanksgiving, my mom makes a booklet that she passes around to each family member that gathers at her home for the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, to write a little bit about what they are thankful for. It's always interesting to read after we are all finished, and sometimes it even surprises us a bit. It's almost always a sure bet, though, that every one of us writes something about being thankful for our family. I know that's what I will be writing about this year, as well as being thankful for some unanswered prayers.
I am very grateful to be a part of this amazingly talented group of people that I have featured here in my journal. And, even though we won't all get to be together for Thanksgiving this year, I'm sure our thoughts will be of each other and how blessed we've been.

And, once again, I'm going to feature a gift given to me by

when I first joined dA of "my two girls." The bigger one has already crossed The Rainbow Bridge, and the reason I am featuring this again, is my little one is very ill right now, and I am so worried about losing her. Here they are, courtesy of Sandy...

I wish for all of you reading this who celebrates Thanksgiving, a very happy, healthy and safe holiday.
Best Wishes,
Mim
