My Little One

This is my Miniature Pinscher, Susie. My whole heart! She went completely blind a few days before Christmas. She has Diabetes, takes two insulin shots a day, and has Cushings Disease. She has more health problems than most people could ever endure, yet, she seems much happier than most healthy people. She wags her "nub" endlessly the minute she hears me enter the room. And, even though I have to "stick" her twice a day with a shot...she never seems to hold it against me. She forgives me the moment I've done it. (most times!)

Susie died in my arms at 1:50am, Friday morning in the ICU at the Vet. Emergency Specialist Hospital in Wilder, KY. She had been there for almost 6 days. The biopsy has not come back, yet, but, they thought she possibly had Pancreatic Cancer.
I know she can see now and is no longer bumping into walls and doors. She no longer has to get two shots of insulin a day or have her treats "spiked" with medicine. I know she is happy, again, and I am happy for her. But, I am so sad for me. She was my whole heart and I am so lost without her.
